TIDES
Hall’s Harbour has some of the greatest tides on earth.
As the tide ebbs it leaves all the fishing vessels and pleasure
craft in the harbour high and dry, as depicted in this painting
by David Lacey.
Every twelve hours and forty minutes the
tide swings from high to low and back to high through a
range of some thirty five vertical feet.
The true spectacle
of this is best enjoyed if you stay the night or the week
at one of our B&B’s, cottages or Inns. |
